Green Mobility Initiative

In a commitment to reducing our carbon footprint, PTW actively promotes sustainable mobility for our employees. Our efforts have been recognized with the MobilSiegel 2024 award, which highlights our dedication to climate-friendly transportation and the various initiatives we’ve implemented to integrate sustainable practices into our daily work life.

To encourage green mobility, we subsidize the Regiokarte Job (regional public transportation ticket) and the Deutschlandticket (nationwide public transportation ticket), making public transport more accessible and attractive for our team.

More than half of PTW’s employees come to work by bicycle, and we offer over 100 bicycle parking spaces (80% of them covered), and charging points for e-bikes. These are powered by our own photovoltaic system and, in case of no sunlight, the power supply is 100% sourced from green electricity. We also have multiple shower rooms across our buildings in Freiburg and Umkirch to freshen up after cycling or other physical activities while there is a bicycle repair stand, a toolkit and an air compressor for tires available for employees.

In addition, since 2023, PTW has adopted the 'Jobrad' program, offering employees bicycle leasing options and thus encouraging them to choose environmentally friendly bicycles and e-bikes for their commute.

Furthermore, as of 2024, all additions to our company vehicle fleet have been and will be fully electric. These vehicles can be charged at our in-house charging stations, which are powered by our photovoltaic modules or green energy from the grid when the sun isn't shining. We also have charging stations for e-scooters.
